The stage is prepared for Rishabh Pant to make a comeback to professional cricket as a wicketkeeper batter, as the BCCI has declared him fully fit for the Indian Premier League in 2024. When the Delhi Capitals meet Punjab Kings in their debut IPL encounter on March 23 in Mohali, the much-awaited comeback of the India cricket player, who was engaged in a fatal automobile accident in December 2022 that stopped him from playing in many cricket matches, will take place.
Pant underwent surgery in the first half of 2023, but he has since shown steady improvement, and it appears that he will make a bigger comeback than before. Pant has improved significantly during the majority of the last year, as shown by his inconsistent attendance at the net sessions. As the speculation about Pant’s absence grew.
Delhi Capitals director Sourav Ganguly and coach Ricky Ponting kept fuelling the fire by disclosing positive updates about his return in time for the IPL 2024. Parth Jindal, the co-owner of the Capitals, stated that Pant will play as a batter, adding, “We will decide for the remainder of the IPL based on how his body reacts.”
