Studio Colorido announced on Saturday that it will release its fourth anime feature film, My Oni Girl (Suki Demo Kirai na Amanojaku), on May 24. The film will open in Japanese theaters and play on Netflix worldwide on that day.

Netflix describes the story:

Hiiragi is a first-year high school student who finds it difficult to say no to requests from others. He longs to get along with people and not be despised.
While attempting to fulfill yet another request without success one summer day, he meets Tsumugi, an oni girl who has traveled to the human world in search of her mother.

This fantasy story about youth takes place over the course of one wintery summer, presented by Studio Colorido.

Miyu Tomita plays Tsumugi, while Kenshō Ono plays Hiiragi Yatsuse, a first-year high school student from Yamagata Prefecture.

Following the 2020 Netflix streaming of Studio Colorido’s film A Whisker Away, the two businesses announced in 2022 a multi-year co-production agreement for three new feature-length films. 2022’s Drifting Home was the first movie in the arrangement, and Studio Colorido revealed the news with a teaser image for the movie that would eventually become My Oni Girl.
